About WebMCP Verify
What is WebMCP Verify?
WebMCP Verify is a free, open-source website scanner that evaluates how ready your website is for the AI agent era. We run 15 automated checks across 4 categories — tool registration, AI discoverability, security, and best practices — and give you an actionable score from A+ to F.
As AI agents (like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity) increasingly interact with the web on behalf of users, websites need structured ways to expose their capabilities. WebMCP (Model Context Protocol) is the emerging standard that makes this possible, and WebMCP Verify helps you measure your readiness.
Our Mission
We believe the web is evolving from human-only browsing to a hybrid environment where both humans and AI agents navigate, discover, and interact with websites. Our mission is to help every website prepare for this transition — for free.
Just as Google's Lighthouse helped the web become faster and more accessible, WebMCP Verify aims to help the web become more AI-agent friendly.
What We Check
- WebMCP Tool Registration (40%) — Declarative forms with toolname/tooldescription attributes, imperative navigator.modelContext.registerTool() API usage, and input field quality
- AI Discoverability (30%) — Schema.org structured data, /llms.txt files, meta descriptions, Open Graph tags, and robots.txt AI bot access
- Security & Compatibility (20%) — HTTPS, Content Security Policy headers, and mixed content detection
- Best Practices (10%) — Tool naming conventions, description quality, inputSchema completeness, and tool annotations
Open Source
WebMCP Verify is built by the OpenClaw community. The scanner engine, scoring algorithm, and fix suggestions are all open source.
